PLANT MANAGER – PROCESS CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
 
Client is seeking a Plant Manager for their specialty chemical facility. Responsibilities for the Plant Manager will include Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost Performance as well as budgets and P&L for entire facility. Establishing the strategy for manufacturing will be a key part of enabling client’s vision a world leader in renewable chemistry. In addition, you will provide operational and technical leadership for Operations, EH&S, Maintenance, Quality and Logistics.
 
The incumbent will need to have experience in plant operations management, safety, quality, logistics and planning for a fully integrated specialty chemicals manufacturing facilities. This position will report to the President, who is on-site, and you will be accountable for all plant metrics. This position has 8 direct reports.
 
Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 Plus Bonus & Excellent Benefit & Relocation Programs
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the organization to improve on all aspects of Safety compliance. You will insure compliance with all EH&S policies and procedures including OSHA, PSM and MOC. The Plant Manager is responsible for the development and management of the Annual Budget of 20MM and this will include expenditures. You will Manage Operations as to meet annual production targets that are in line with sales and commercial budgets. This role is also responsible for setting the strategy and driving Continuous Improvement projects and capacity expansions. You will oversee the Quality Management System and insure compliance with Quality policy. Another function of this role is applying engineering expertise to technical operational issues or problems. You will maintain effective communications and working relationships with Sales, R&D, Finance and HR.

Requirements for this Chemical Engineer role: 
Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Chemistry, Masters Preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Specialty Chemical Manufacturing, including both batch and continuous
Five or more years in a leadership role in a chemical manufacturing environment
Prior leadership in a Union facility is highly desired
Experience in process design and improvement
Demonstrated ability in developing operational budgets and financial targets
Experience working within a formal Quality Management System
Experience with process troubleshooting and debottlenecking
Knowledge of GMP would be helpful
